About Us

Gilbert Avila, Founder

Gilbert graduated from Baylor University in 2016 with his Masters in Taxation. Prior to his Masters, Gilbert obtained his B.B.A in 2014 with a quadruple major in Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Real Estate.

After graduating from Baylor, Gilbert went on to work at KPMG as an Associate in Federal Taxation preparing C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trusts across a variety of industries from oil and gas, insurance, tech, and medical. Additionally, Gilbert also had the opportunity, during his internship prior to graduating, to work in KPMG’s advisory department in their financial management group performing consulting services for a large energy company’s CFO who wanted to revamp their Financial, Planning and Analysis department’s process.

Gilbert left KPMG to pursue an exciting role as an internal auditor for a multinational inspection company, Intertek, traveling the country and world to such places as Hong Kong and Sao Paulo to perform internal audits of the firm’s finance and operations teams. While at Intertek, Gilbert worked to ensure that the firm’s controls were being implemented and enforced in addition to ensuring proper accounting treatment and processes were being followed. Gilbert was heavily involved in the planning, execution, and reporting of full audits, audit reviews, and remote desktop audits.

Gilbert went on to help his mother at her tax practice, Master Latinos Income Tax services, which he also worked at during his high school and college years, helping prepare individual tax returns and resolving tax disputes. At Master Latinos, he focused preparing 1040’s, Schedule A’s, and Schedule C’s in addition to conducting tax research.

Although Gilbert spent several years in corporate America, his passion for entrepreneurship never left his heart. Growing up witnessing the successes and failures of his entrepreneurial parents, siblings, and family friends, molded Gilbert to have a life-long goal to be an entrepreneur and help other entrepreneurs obtain success. Gilbert is passionate about all aspects of business such as Accounting, Finance, Management, Real Estate, Marketing, and Sales. Gilbert finally acted on his dreams to start his own company. Lanza Financial, LLC was founded in August 2018 with the purpose of helping people launch and manage their businesses in the most efficient and effective manner.
